2008!
The Team
America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) is on
again for 2008!
Sponsored by the Aerospace Industries Association
(AIA) and the National Association of Rocketry (NAR), the TARC is a
national rocket contest for high school and middle school age
students in the United States.
Originally planned as a one-time event (to
coincide with the 100 year anniversary of flight), the event has been
such a success that it is now being held annually! Hundreds of
schools and thousands of students have participated in the past three
events.
The 2008 challenge is a combo of Altitude and
"Precision Duration" and is open to teams from schools, scout groups,
4-H, Civil Air Patrol, etc.
The event is co-sponsored by the Government Partners of NASA and the Department of Defense and the Educational Partners of the American Association of Physics Teachers and the 4-H SET (Science, Engineering and Technology).

This is a truly great event, and we would
like to encourage you to participate!
If you are a student or an educator, register a
team (or teams) from your school or eligible group.
If you are a senior NAR member, be sure to sign up
to serve as a mentor for the program (and if you aren't a member,
join
now!).

look forward to providing you with quality components and advice
again this year!
All registered TARC teams for the 2008 event
get a 10% discount on products!
To qualify for the discount, your team must be
registered for the 2008 contest. Be sure to provide your team
number and school or group name when ordering. Discount applies to
all items except monthly or close-out specials, and does not
apply to shipping. Shipping rates are based on merchandise cost
before discount. Please ask if you have any
questions!
If you place your order online, be sure to note in the Comments section that the order is for a TARC Team and include your Team number and we'll be sure to give you your discount.
Although you cannot enter a commercial kit in the
contest, if you are new (or relatively new) to rocketry, many of our
kits will provide you with a way of learning many basic rocketry
skills. We can suggest the kits that would best fit your situation,
just ask!
