The Liberty Bell 7 Mercury Redstone (designated Mercury-Redstone 4) was the second of the manned Mercury project flights. Gus Grissom was the astronaut aboard this sub-orbital flight on July 21, 1961 which lasted just under 16 minutes. For more info on the launch, check out this page from Kennedy Space Center.

Long a favorite Estes kit, this recent re-release features molded plastic parts, laser-cut wood fins and waterslide decals. Supplies are limited.
