The Sandia Sandhawk was developed as an upper stage for sounding rocket systems. The Sandhawk flew three times as a single stage rocket between 1966 and 1974.

This Micro kit is designed to use the Quest™ Micro Maxx™ engines and is based on our "Minimum Diameter" T-MM body tubes. Includes 3D printed nose cone, Kevlar® shock cord, metallized polyester streamer, water-slide decal and our usual complete instructions. Due to the small parts involved, these kits are not recommended for the first-time modeler. Younger modelers should have the assistance of an adult when trying to construct these small kits.

What you'll need to build this model:

Adhesives (a quick-curing epoxy glue can be used for most steps and is recommended, cyanoacrylate [“CA”] is recommended for some steps and you may also use throughout if preferred); hobby knife with a sharp #11 blade; straight edge (preferably metal); cellophane ("Scotch") tape; double-sided cellophane ("Scotch") tape; paint (Spray or bottle paint, such as such as Rust-Oleum, Krylon, or Testors is recommended. Be sure not to mix different types or brands of paint without testing.) - primer (optional), white, fluorescent red, black & clear (optional); sandpaper (medium - 220 or 280, fine - 320 or 400, & [optionally] extra fine - 500 or 600); pencil.
Recommended, but not required: tweezers (or needle nose pliers); sanding block; tack cloth; decal setting solution such as Micro Set or Micro Sol.
